WEAR: LAZY IN NAVY

I've woken up every morning since the beginning of this month thinking 'today is the day I start my journey into the big-booty-four-pack promised land!', but my addiction to milky, whipped cream-topped hot chocolates is negating my healthy intentions. So to camouflage the obvious effects of consuming all the dairy all the time I'm living in chunky knitwear, any denim that's accommodating of my hips and covering up with this navy duster coat I found at my local Salvation Army.

MAKE: PRISM BAG

Part of me leaving my hoarding ways in the past involves getting rid of every random scrap of fabric I own. I had some downtime on Monday and decided to freestyle a geometric prism bag out of half a metre of some gorgeous faux-leather I had lying around-with jump rings and a zip I kept from an old backpack.
I can't even put a step by step guide into this post because I had no real idea of what I was doing going into it, I just drew the worst spec-drawing ever (see below but don't laugh) and gave myself a 4hour limit to get it done. I hope the pictures below help to illustrate how straightforward the process actually was as soon as I cut the pieces out.
My official line on why no lining was used in the making of this bag is that I'm a renegade, rebel-child, but word on the street is I'm too lazy and I don't care.

BEAUTY: CHOCOLATE DELUXE

Now how far behind the zeitgeist am I on chocolate brown lipstick? Let me explain my lateness/ bang-on-trendness before you judge me. I have yet to meet a matte lipstick I haven't fallen in love with, and because matte's mostly come in red I've become a creature of habit, alternating between MAC's Sin, Ruby Woo and Diva.
In an attempt to remedy my addiction to red lipstick I added a nude to my collection, but it came nowhere near my preferred level of intimidating-80s-power-bitch so I went in search of a richer brown instead. Enter MAC's Film Noir, a rich, dark chocolatey satin that's easily mattified with a little face powder.

some pins from a pinterest board I created dedicated to chocolate lipstick.. I'm a bit obsessed
I used a dark brown liner by Kiko in 315 to line my lips, applied the lipstick, dabbed on some face powder to mattify it a little and followed with another coat of lipstick which I then blotted.

MISC: BEST OF 2014

I'm a few days late with this post but you'll have to forgive me because I'm still recovering from a new year's eve that left me feeling like I was dragged through a hedge backwards and run over by a truck.

All I really have to say is that I'm excited to see what the next 361 days of 2015 have to offer if they're going to be anywhere near as amazing or enlightening as 2014 was. I worked hard, made unnecessary mistakes and learnt valuable lessons, but I also spent a considerable amount of time languishing in the sunshine, resting, recharging, scheming and plotting!

Also big up yuhhhself if you're a regular reader of my blog, I appreciate all of you-yeah all 5 of you *cue lone tumbleweed and canned laughter*, and hope you continue on with me through the growth of this little passion project of mine!

ps. the throwback picture is from my time in Cancun last year..
